Andrew Buchanan, Will Peterson, and Charles Buchanan secured a judgment for their client valued at $1.09 million dollars in a workers’ compensation case. Our client’s husband died in a car wreck in 2011 while out working on the road. The employer and the insurance company refused to provide any compensation whatsoever to our client as the surviving spouse, which they were required to do under the law. The employer and insurance company claimed that our client’s husband was not actually working and that he had a heart attack or some other medical condition before the car wreck. The attorneys at BWO fought for the rights of our client and took the case to a final hearing. The Workers’ Compensation Judge agreed with BWO and ordered the employer and insurance company to pay benefits to our client that are valued at $1.09 million dollars. The case was reported by the newspaper Missouri Lawyers Weekly on November 24, 2014.
